Wood is a sustainable, eco-friendly and recyclable material.
Wood is environmentally responsible as it stores carbon.
Wood is as strong as steel and extremely durable.
Wood lifecycle is unlimited if protected and maintained.
Wood is 100% biodegradable.
Wood waste from processing and production is re-useable, such as wood shavings in mulch and sawdust for use in composite decking and animal bedding.

Our Green Strategy
Base Basics seeks to prevent the further depletion of natural resources, so that they will remain available for the long-term and for generations to come.
Our Green Strategy ensures a better, cleaner and greener future for all by implementing sustainable practices both within and outside our business.
Some of these practices are:

Sourcing wood recycle to reduce the amount of new wood required for the manufacture of our wood products, with a vision to using 100% recycled wood.

Recycling materials within our workplace such as the nails removed from the recycled wood, aluminium cans,glass bottles, paper, cardboard and light plastic.

The use of energy in the workplace and more specifically, in manufacturing, is a large contributor to greenhouse gas emissions. To save on energy lights in the factory are only used when necessary and switches on all appliances and machinery are switched off when not in use.

The waste from processing and production of wood is also re-useable such as wood off-cuts for kindling firewood, wood shavings in mulch, and sawdust for use in composite decking and animal bedding.
